DECATUR — The seventh annual Decatur Community fishing derby will be held June 12 at Crystal Lake for children ages 1-14. There will be five different age categories.

Registration is from 8:15 to 9 with the derby held from 9 until noon.

Prizes will be awarded all participants, according to organizer Nickie Smith, along with special catch prizes.

The Game and Fish Commission will stock the overflow pond with catchable size catfish. If water levels are too low the entire lake will be stocked.

There will be children’s games and a picnic for participants and families. Each child must have only one rod or pole and must be accompanied by an adult.
