In Charles Furlow’s chitchat column for Lambeth Drug he wrote about the Decatur picnic: “Decatur always does things up in a big way. Leon McAuliffe provided the entertainment.”

Bernard and Jo McAbee announced they had purchased Meade’s Flowers from Dot and Richard Meade.

The Gravette 4-H Club planted flowers in the beds on the Masonic lot on Gravette Main Street. (This was at the corner of Main and Second northeast).

Mr. and Mrs. Kim Hendren left to make their home in Oklahoma City where he has accepted a position with Westinghouse Electric.

Gravette City Councilpurchased 800 feet of 2 1/2 inch hose and 150 feet of 1 1/2 inch. The Council was considering adopting a peddler’s law known as the Green River Ordinance.

In the “Teen Time” column the top teen of the week was Frederick Samuel Coffee, better known as Freddy Coffee.

Gladys Keith wrote from Hiwasse: “About 18 of our young people attended the swimming class at Bella Vista.

Miss Peggy Sandlin became the bride of Leon Bertschy in a ceremony at the Bentonville Church of Christ.

Sterling Brothers Circus announced it was coming to Gravette Saturday. “We invite you to watch us water the elephants at Paul Davidson’s D-X Station at 12 noon,” their ad said.
