Gravette Gleamers 4-H Community Service

— On May 8 members of Gravette Gleamers 4-H Club went to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery to clean up the new addition to the cemetery. We picked up rocks and also filled in sunken in areas in the cemetery. About 15 4-Hers and five or six adults helped in this project.

After volunteering at the cemetery, we then went to the Gravette Senior Activity Center to plant the senior citizens’ garden. We planted sunflowers, tomatoes, onions, flowers, cucumbers, bell peppers, green beans and squash. We all had a great time and the senior citizens really appreciated it.

On May 10 we had our monthly 4-H meeting, discussed the new and old business and finished up with a club craft. We made bird houses and painted them.

We also discussed our upcoming fundraiser dance which is scheduled June 4 from 6 to 9 at the Bolings’ big red barn.

If interested in joining 4-H contact Cindy Pembleton.
