Students Are Honored With Bikes For Perfect School Attendance

— The Glenn Duffy Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) was very supportive of the students at school, said Zane Vanderpool, principal. “This year the PTO purchased birthday pencils, treats, door prizes, shirts and many other things. The PTO also helped improve student achievement opportunities by increasing student attendance.” All year long, students have known that they could have a chance to win a PTO “spirit bike” and helmet for havingperfect attendance. Students were awarded a ticket for perfect attendance for each quarter of school. Students were also able to earn a ticket for attending each day of state testing and even more tickets for best effort during testing, the principal explained.

A drawing was held in the last days of school to select the winners of this year’s PTO Spirit Bike and helmet. A boy and a girl from each grade at Glenn Duffy were selected. “The Glenn Duffy PTO needs your help! Look for opportunities to join and serve our school in August,” Vanderpool urges.
