GENTRY — Gentry High School’s cheerleading squad received numerous awards at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock cheer camp ran by NCA- National Cheerleaders Association earlier this month.
Team Awards - The allgirl squad received six superior ratings and ribbons throughout the week and was the Spirit Stick Winner. The squad received the overall Team Award for the team that worked together the best throughout the week.
Individual Awards - Kayla Hendrix, Chelsey Beach and Kaylin Cripps received All-American Honors at the camp. The individual cheerleaders had to go through a tryout process consisting of jumps, cheer and tumbling to receive this honor.
Chelsey Beach was one to be nominated for the of 11 in the entire camp NCA staff. She is eligibleto tryout in December for the NCA staff. If chosen,she could be on the staff mer to teach the 2011 which travels next sum- camps.
