CIA Cookout

The Christians In Action group at the United Methodist Church will be holding a cookout to raise money for the Decatur Food Pantry in the Decatur State Bank parking lot on June 25. They will be serving barbecued chicken, beans and chips from around 10:30 a.m., until the food has run out.

Arvest Ballpark Decatur Night

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals and the Decatur Chamber of Commerce are presenting “Decatur Night,” at Arvest Ballpark. The game will begin at 6 p.m., July 18. Discounted tickets are available for Decatur residents only, and $1 from each ticket sold will go back to the Decatur community. Tickets can be purchased for $6 from the Decatur State Bank, City of Decatur, Decatur General Store, the Gallery Cafe and TNT Express. For more information call 752-3281.

Vacation Bible School

Saddle up your horses for Saddle Ridge Ranch on Sunday, June 27 through Thursday, July 1, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. nightly at the First Baptist Church in Decatur.

Class of 2000 Reunion

Decatur High School Class of 2000 is planning a 10-year reunion this summer. The reunion committee would love for everyone who graduated from Decatur in 2000 to participate in the reunion but needs addresses or contact information for a large portion of the graduates. Creators Cafe, a creative writing group, meets from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month and from 11 a.m until 12:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month in the Iva Jane Peek Library. Activities include reading and writing poetry, discussions of famous poets and their work, challenges, slam and stand up, and contests and prizes. Parks and Recreation

Parks and Recreation Committee meetings will be held at 6 p.m., on the first Thursday of the month in the city council room. All members urged to attend along with anyone who is interested in joining the committee. For more information, call 752-3912.

Food Pantry

The Decatur food pantry is open from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday. The pantry offers free non-perishable food to Decatur residents. The pantry is located at the United Methodist Church in Decatur. Participants need to bring identification showing they have a 72722 ZIP code. For more information, contact the Methodist Church at 752-3551.

Council Meetings

Decatur city council meetings are held at 6 p.m., the second Monday of each month, in the council room at city hall and are open to the public. For more information, call 752-3912.

Assembly of God Van Service

Van service is available to children and adults who need transportation to Sunday morning and evening church services and Wednesday evening services at the Assembly of God Church in Decatur. For more information, contact Stacy Brooks at 790-7171.

VFW Meetings

The Gentry/Decatur VFW Post meets on the first Tuesday of each month - at 7:30 p.m. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is 3 miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102, right on Tilly’s Hill Road, and the first building on the right.

Decatur Library

Decatur library hours are 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Wednesdays.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. Refreshments are served and everyone is welcome. The church is located west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.
