GENTRY — Leroy and Janet Dickhaut celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on April 16.

Leroy Ray Dickhaut and Janet Mary Smith met as pen pals in 1956 and were married at Battle Creek, Mich., in 1961.

They have seven children: Jeni Burnett and husband Terry of Michigan, David Dickhaut andwife Sheryl of Tennessee, Elizabeth Robeson and husband David of California, Michael Dickhaut of California, Lisa Forney of Arkansas, Melinda Brassfield of Arkansas, and Ashley Wilson of New York.

Leroy is a retired auto mechanic and Jan is retired as a nurse.

The couple has resided in Gentry for 33 years.
