Marie Kane Rejoins Staff At OCH Hospital

— Nurse Practitioner Marie Kane joins the Ozarks Community Hospital team, assisting with inpatient care on the medical floor and in the emergency room. She plans to expand to outpatient care in the future.

Kane grew up in the western United States but moved to Arkansas as a young adult and considers it home. Sheis a longtime Gravette resident who started out as a nurse’s aide at the Gravette hospital shortly after moving to town. She obtained her BSN from Oklahoma Wesleyan in Bartlesville, OK, followed by her MSN as a family nurse practitioner from Pittsburgh State University in Kansas.

Prior to her return to OCH Kane worked forthe Mercy hospital program. “While I enjoyed the experience at Mercy, I’m very excited to be working back within my community. I feel that this is where I need to be,” said Kane. She lives outside of Gravette with her husband Kelly and youngest son Kit. They have three children, Kolt, Katy and Kit, all of whom grew up inGravette and graduated from Gravette High School.

Ozarks Community Hospital of Gravette is located in the former Gravette Medical Center Hospital building. OCH of Gravette currently offers a 15 bed inpatient floor, 10 bed geriatric behavioral health unit and a 24-hour fully staffed emergency room. TheGravette Hospital employees several doctors who are board certified in Emergency Medicine.
