Board to look at cleaning services

— The school board went into executive session toward the close of its meeting on June 14 to discuss personnel matters and returned to approve a $2,500 annual salary increase to the district superintendent’s salary.

In other miscellaneous business, the board approved a consulting contract with Aliza Jones for technical assistance with the district’s Master Facilities Plan. The one-year contract is for $7,000.

Other miscellaneous business included a decision to allow district superintendent Randy Barrett to confer with the cleaning service regarding a one-month extension of the current contract until a final decision can be made on whether to bid out cleaning services for 2010-2011 or for the school to employ its own staff.

In the round table session, Gary Dunlap indicated he would seek to be elected to his board position next fall.

The annual school election will be held on Sept. 21.
