Newspaper office relocating

— The Gentry office of the Courier-Journal and the Decatur Herald will be moving to Gravette this week, witha merger of the Decatur, Gentry and Gravette newspapers set for Aug. 4.

Though the newspaper merger which will form a combined edition of the Decatur Herald, Gentry Courier-Journal and Gravette News Herald is still over amonth away, the logistics of forming the new publication begin this week with the moving of the Gentry office to Gravette.

Office furniture will be moved Wednesday, with the technology transfer scheduled for Thursday. Once complete, phone calls or fax transmissions to the Gentry and Decatur phone numbers will automatically be transferred to the new office location - the current office of the Gravette News Herald located on MainStreet, just east of Arkansas Highway 59.

E-mail addresses will remain unchanged from the new ones assigned after the formation of Northwest Arkansas Newspapers LLC. News items, photographs, announcements, subscriptions and advertising may be submitted to the new office, called in by telephone or sent by e-mail or the U.S. Postal Service. Subscriptions and advertising may also be handled through our Siloam Springs office, located onMt. Olive, across from the park and fire station. The telephone number there is 479-524-5144.

“Though the office is moving, the newspaper is not,” said Moll. “We intend to spend time in each of the communities we serve, covering news stories and events.”

Beginning with the Aug. 4 issue, the three newspapers will be combined into one new newspaper, the Westside Eagle Observer. Local coverage of each community, however, will continue.

Those with current subscriptions to the Decatur Herald, Gentry Courier-Journal or Gravette News Herald will automatically begin receiving the Westside Eagle Observer when publication begins on Aug. 4.
