Windy John Curtis

Windy John Curtis, 56, of Sulphur Springs, died June 17, 2010, at his home.

He was born June 19, 1953, in Noel, Mo., to Ray Curtis and Vera Lorene Mc-Mahan Curtis. He servedin the Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for Advantage Metals. He marriedPhyllis Barker in Miami, Okla., on Feb. 9, 1996. He was a member of Grace Meadows Fellowship in Maysville.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Strausser.

Survivors include his wife Phyllis of the home; two daughters, Erin Ladner and husband Mike of Chalmette, La., and Amber Curtis of Enid, Okla.; two sons, Matt Barker ofBartlesville, Okla., and Lance Denton of Fayetteville; 12 grandchildren; four sisters, Christie Kirby and husband Max of Maysville, Jackie Wheeler and husband Vern of Sulphur Springs, Bertie Vance and husband Jimmy and Rita Curtis, all of Southwest City, Mo.; and one brother, Roy Curtis and wife Brenda of Southwest City.

Funeral services were June 21 at Grace Meadows Fellowship, Maysville, with Bill Query officiating. Burial followed at Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Okla.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Heloise Mildred Misener

Heloise Mildred Misener, 85, of Galena, Kan., died June 7, 2010, at her home.

She was born June 11, 1924, in Spring Valley, to Fred and Minnie WhittleSmith. She worked for Simmons Industries in the dog food division. She was the widow of Cecil Clayton Jones and Joseph Franklin Misener. She enjoyed fishing and playing with her dogs. She was affiliated with the Church of God.

She is survived by a son, Roger Hawkins and wife Carol of Searcy; five daughters, Marilyn Ames of Galena, Janice Clark and husband Jerry of Colcord, Okla., Linda Walker and husband Wayne of Siloam Springs, Joyce Chrismon of Aurora, Colo., and Melba Vanhuss and husband Paul of Yoder, Colo.; a brother, Joe Smith of Springdale; and two sisters, Sherry Stevens of Elm Springs, and Marilyn Hail of Springdale.

A graveside service was held June 10, 2010, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs with Jerry Savage officiating.

Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Becky Skidmore

Becky Skidmore, 51, of Siloam Springs, died June 13, 2010.

She was born May 11, 1959, in Wichita, Kan., to Elvin Shuffleberger and Marie Thompson. She worked at Dollar Tree and was pursuing her degree in medical coding with the University of Phoenix.

Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Carl “Jack” Skidmore of Siloam Springs; mother, Marie Davis of Gentry; father, Elvin Shuffleberger of Wichita; daughters, Jennifer Galloway of Gentry, and Talona Lovett of Summersville, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services were held earlier. Arrangements were by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home in Rogers.
