Maysville Extension Homemakers Meet

The Maysville Extension Homemakers Club met June 24 at the Community Center Jewel Lukens was hostess for the noon luncheon.

President Orpha Wardlaw called the business meeting to order at 1 p.m. We pledged allegiance to the U. S. flag. Melinda Crawley led the singing of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”. Jew el Lukens read an inspira tional poem entitled “Just Keep On Keepin’ On”.

Sylvia Tucker gave the helpful hint - To clean the bathroom stool easily flush, then pour in a bottle of Coca-Cola and let setone hour. Then brush and flush again.

The cultural art was a recipe for “The Easiest Ever Sweet Pickles” by Jewel Lukens.

We paid our yearly dues of $4.00 for membership.

Katherine Tucker read the minutes of the May meeting and gave the treasurer’s report.

Members were chosen to be the hostess, give the lessons and cultural art items for the coming year.

The County Fun Day for all the Benton County clubs will be here at Maysville July 23 beginning at 10 a.m. Some of the county men will cook hamburgers and hot dogs. Each one attending is to bring a dessert or side dish.

We voted to have an educational booth at the County Fair which will be Aug. 18 - 22.

Mable Ward drew the quarter package.

We will have a short meeting July 22 at 1 p.m. to make preparations for the county meeting on July 23. Everyone is invited. There will be drawings for door prizes.
