Council Closes Street

GRAVETTE — Following a public hearing Thursday evening the Gravette City Council voted to close a short section of Charlotte Street SW that joins two properties and dead-ends at the Westfield Subdivision. No objections were heard and the action was unanimous.

In other action the Council approved on first reading an ordinance that would have rescinded Ordinance 153 involving the Gravette Fire Department. That item will be discussed at the March Committee of the Whole meeting.

Tabled amending Ordinance 08-06 involving water payment due dates.

Heard a report from the city engineering firm involving the sewer system upgrade. (See article on page 1 of this issue of The News Herald.
