JGT Club Members Beginning Search For Club Projects

— The regular monthly meeting of the Jolly Good Times Club was held Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center with six members and one guest, Charlie Griffin, present.

President Jeanne Hubbard opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance to the flag and led the singing of “When The Red, Red Robin Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin’ Along”. Her devotions focused on how we can better interact with others.

Chia Greer answered roll call with a quote, “Strive not to be a success but to be of value”, Mary Griffin with a poem from a valentine box, Susan Holland with cures for boredom, Betty Howard withjokes about prayers before meals and the dangers of looking back, Jeanne with a joke about comments at funerals and Eda Montag with an announcement of her 51st wedding anniversary.

Chia gave a report on an absent member. Betty read the minutes of the January meeting and they were approved as read. Mary gave the financial report and it was approved.

In new business members were asked to bring suggestions for other projects the group might finance. Jeanne gave a very interesting program, reading excerpts from the book “Wesley The Owl”.

Members sang the doxology before adjourning for their potluck meal.
