Vernal Lois Crawford

Vernal Lois Crawford, of Fayetteville, died Feb. 25, 2010, at Washington regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

She was born on April 10, 1923, in Bristow, Okla., to Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Wilmoth. She grew up in Britton, Okla., and graduated from high school there. She entered nursing school at Wesley Hospital-Nursing School where she was a member of the Army-Navy Cadet Program during World War II and graduated to become a registered nurse in Oklahoma City in 1946. She married Perry F. Crawford on Nov. 10, 1944, in Pecos, Texas.Following his graduation from Oklahoma University Medical School in 1953, they lived on other bases while he served in the U.S. Air Force until 1960. They later moved to Tulsa, Okla., and then to Fayetteville. She was active at Tulsa Bible Church in Tulsa, New Life Ranch in Colcord,Okla., and University Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

She is survived by her husband; four children and their spouses, Susan and Pat O’Brien of Fayetteville, Jeff and Janet Crawford of Coral Springs, Fla., Doug and Cheryl Crawford of Amarillo, Texas, and Julie and John Adams of Little Rock; one brother and his wife, Mirl and Pat Wilmoth of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.

Memorial services were March 1 at Fellowship Bible Church of Springdale. Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Ranch, 160 New Life Ranch Dr., Colcord, OK 74338.

Arrangements were by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory of Fayetteville.

Mildred Martin

Mildred Martin, 78, of Gravette, Ark., died Feb. 23, 2010, in Gravette.

She was born May 18,1931, in Stinett, Texas, to the late William Edward and Lydia Bryan Mizar. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Gravette. She was a volunteer for the First Christian Church, Feed My Sheep, Angel Food Ministries, Meals on Wheels, Care and Share and the First Christian Church Breakfast Program. She was a member of the Maysville E-H Club and a Leader in the 4H Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, JL Martin. She is survived by two sons, Bruce Martin of Baldwin City, Kan., Donald Martin Sr. of Decatur; one daughter, Deborah Jones of Alexander; one sister, Eva Norris of Denver City, Texas; eight grandchildren; and11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service were Feb. 27 at the Assembly of God Church in Gravette, with A.P. Vohs officiating. Interment was at the Benton CountyMemorial Park Cemetery in Rogers. Memorials may be made to Feed My Sheep.

Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home.

Richard B. Mills

Richard B. “Dick” Mills, 83, of Rogers, died Feb. 27, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

He was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Hughes to George B. and Myrtle Mills. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army, was a life member of the VFW Post 5225 in West Memphis and the American Legion Post 100 of Rogers.

Survivors include his wife, Ouida Mills; daughters Sharon Mills and Tina Genereau, both of Rogers, and Dixie Mills of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.

Services were March 3 at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers. Burial was at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
