Soccer team improving

The Gentry girls’ soccer team lost a close game to Huntsville on a very cold Feb. 23 by a score of 2-1. But though the team came up short on the scoreboard, they played a strong game and continue to show improvement.

“I thought we improved and played well,” said Gentry coach Dan Childress. “Yochabel Perales, a senior forward, scored early in the match for us. We controlled the match and had many more shots than they had. However, give Huntsvillecredit. They found a way to win in the end. But I was very pleased with our play and effort.”

On Friday, the girls defeated Decatur by a score of 10-0.
