Alpena Bans Sale Of K2

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

The Alpena City Council recently passed an emergency ordinance making the sale, trade, etc. of K2 illegal in that Carroll County town.

K2 has drawn nationwide attention because it appears to cause hallucinatory effects in those who ingest it. The substance is usually purchased as an “incense” which is labeled not for human consumption.

The substance had been available at a convenience store in that city until the ban was enacted. Violators face fines up to $500.
