Glenn Duffy Elementary School Announces March PAWS Winners

— Glenn Duffy Elementary PAWS (”Pawsitive” and Wise) Students of the Month for March are announced by Principal Zane Vanderpool. Pictured from left to right are Nicolas Hamilton, Johnny Teis, Keaton Oyler and Kaden Campbell. Alyssa Brassfield and Trenton Durham are also recognized but were not present at the timeof the photo, Vanderpool said.

“The PAWS Program incorporates character education into the school community,” Vanderpool explained. “Each month a PAWS skill is chosen and discussed in classroom guidance in relation to character education. The character word for March is honesty. ‘Have the strengthto be an honest person,’ George Washington said.”

PAWS awards are given in the classroom, hallway, cafeteria, etc. as an incentive for students to practice the PAWS skill for the month. Students are recognized at Rise & Shine assemblies and PAWS Student of the Month t-shirts are sponsored by the Glenn Duffy Elementary PTO.
