The Pioneers won their opener on March 1 against Greenland by a score of 10-7. On March 2, they had the lead against West Fork and were ahead 8-7 going into the bottom of the 7th, but lost 9-8. They were shut out 10-0 on Thursday against Elkins but fared better against Dover.

Elkins jumped ahead early on its home diamond, scoring five runs in the first inning and picking up another three in the fourth and two in the fifth to end the game.
