Imogene Cockrell

M. Imogene Cockrell, 85, of Colcord, Okla., died March 3, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

She was born to Tink Rouse and Mae Fox Rouse on June 11, 1924, in Kiefer, Okla. She married Wayne Cockrell in Siloam Springs on Aug. 14, 1941. She was a member of the Colcord Church of Christ and the Union Quilting Club. She served lunches at Union Grade School and Colcord Schools. She also worked at Franklin Electric in Siloam Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Randy Cockrell; and her parents.

Survivors include one son, Kenny Cockrell and wife Lynette of Kansas, Okla.; two daughters, Carolyn Duncan and husband Ken of Siloam Springs, and Mary Dixon and husband Leon of Watts, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lou Ann Londagin of Jenks, Okla., Ulele Stinchcomb and husband Ray of Catoosa, Okla., and Nyla Nunley of Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral services were March 6, 2010, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, with Larry Ellis and Navil Vaughan officiating. Burial followed at Allen Cemetery near Moseley, Okla.

Lea Don McChesney

Lea Don McChesney, 68, of Rose, Okla., died March 2, 2010

He was born to Alfred Edward and Opal (Pelky) McChesney on Aug. 10, 1941, in Oberlin, Kan.

He attended schools in Scottsbluff, Neb. and Minitare, Neb., He moved to Oklahoma City where he and Fannie Marie Cashion were married on Aug. 27, 1960. He also lived in Stilwell, Okla., Gentry, and Rose, Okla. He was a brick layer and farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Carl and Dale.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Stephanie and husband Dan, Stacey and husband Robert; one son, Alfred Edward and wife Lela; six grandchildren; two sisters, Donna McGwen Ward, and Vergie Allen and her husband Gerald.

Graveside services were March 5 at the McChesney Family Cemetery, with Maxie Thompson officiating.

Arrangements were by Green County Funeral Home in Tahlequah, Okla.

Frances Louise Workman

Frances “Louise” Workman, 60, of Gentry, died March 3, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

She was born to Ralph “Bud” Wilmoth and Daisy Lucille Weeks Wilmoth on Jan. 4, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. She lived in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., before moving to Gentry in 1963. She was a graduate of the University of Arkansas, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She worked for O’Reilly Auto Parts Store and was a member of the Sager Creek Fine Arts Center in Siloam Springs.

Survivors include one son, Roy Sikes of Gentry; and three brothers, James “Jim” Wilmoth and Melvin “Jack” Wilmoth, both of Palatine, Texas, and Ralph Wilmoth of Aurora, Colo.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
