BELLA VISTA — The Andante Music Club of Bella Vista, which is affiliated with the Arkansas and National Federation of Music Clubs, reminds music teachers and students that it will be accepting recorded auditions for a competition of young musical artists from Benton County.
This is the 20th year of this competition and students may audition in piano, strings, voice, guitar, organ or any other orchestral instrument. The competition is open to students from age 8 through 18 who reside in Benton County.
Students will be required to submit an audition tape or CD of no more than five minutes. Students may enter in more than one category, but only one entry per category. Performers for the recital that will be held April 11, 2009, will be chosen from the tapes. Winners will be selected from each category and age groups. Age groupings will be determined based on number of applications received.
Monetary prizes will be awarded for the top participants in each category. Three scholarships will be awarded for a week at camp at Inspiration Point in Eureka Springs for voice, piano and strings.
