GRAVETTE — Gravette High School junior Daniel Poemoceah was recently named an Arkansas All-State Band member as a result of tryouts held February 6 in Jonesboro.

To be selected for All-State Band students must compete against the top band students from each region of the state regardless of school size. The tryout involves sight-reading music, playing selected scales and performing prepared music.

The students named to All-State participated in a two-day clinic which culminated in concerts held February 20 at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

“Congratulations to Daniel for representing Gravette as an All-State Band member,” said Mike Johnson, Gravette High School band director.
