Gentry Middle School choir receives high rating

— The Gentry Middle School Honors Choir received superior ratings at its regional performance assessment March 4 in Bentonville.

The choir performed the a capella piece, “Will You Still Love Me When I’m Old?” and the Spanish accompanied piece, “De Colores” (“The Colors”), and scored all superior ratings from the judges for their stage performances and in the sight-reading room. The choir received a plaque for its superior singing at the assessment. The choir is made up of 25 girls in the seventh and eighth grades. Trella Yates is the choral director.

Martha Hawkins accompanied the group on the piano. Choir members include: Shelby Allen, Bailey Austin, Chelsie Beach, Kristin Cox, Aja Fincher, Kristen Flesner, Holyn Fredick, Michelle Hamilton, Faith Harvey, Lindsey Holt, Katie Howard, Mattie Hutcheson, Jasmin Magana Herrera, Joan Mann, Shyann Mouse, Veronica Aguilar, Megan Parish, Katana Qualls, Kyla Riggs, Haylee Smith, Emily Taylor, Ashley Trimble, Mycah Turtle and Lacy Verlod.
