Maysville News

Guess we knew when spring came in it wasn’t really what we were looking for. Guess a big area received big snows. At least it is above freezing.

Alex Lovell went to track meet in Gentry on Tuesday. He came back with four ribbons. Way to go, Alex. Congratulations!

Sylvia Tucker visited her sister, Jean Martindale, on Wednesday afternoon. They enjoyed a good visit.

I enjoyed my two sisters, Marie Crawford and husband Jim of Decatur and Frances Sims of Bentonville, coming to see me on Thursday. We were celebrating Marie’s birthday.

Shelly Bishop visited Jack and Sylvia Tucker one day this week. They always enjoy her visit.

I was asked to put this in my items. Someone did not turn off the heat switch in the kitchen after using the Maysville Community Building. That makes our propane use a lot more and no one using the building. Propane is high and our income low at this time of year. Be sure the switch is off before leaving the building. We are happy to have the building to be used and we will continue to allow its use. I’m sure this was not intentional. It can happen very easily.

Maysville E.H. Club members, remember this Thursday is our regular club meeting at the community building. Jewel Crawley is hostess and will also give a cultural art and the lesson. Anyone who has a helpful hint will give it.

Bert Ballmann will bring the quarter package.

Word was received Saturday of the death of Marjorie Whittenberg. She was the daughter of the late John and Lilly Marsh. She was a former Maysville resident before moving to Idaho. She and her husband Glen still lived in Idaho. Services will be held there. Sympathy is extended to the family.

There were several Maysville people who attended funeral services for Donald Martin at the Christian Church in Gravette last Monday afternoon. Sympathy is extended to the family.

Church services were canceled Sunday at the Maysville Bible Church because of the weather. We will have regular services next week. We extend an invitation to everyone. We would be glad to have you. Guess church services were canceled over the area because of the weather.
