Wittenburg Marjorie

Marjorie Alene Wittenburg, 79, of Emmett, Idaho, died March 20, 2010. She was born February 9, 1931, near Maysville, AR, the daughter of John Charles and Lillie Edith Loghry Marsh.

She married Glenn Wittenburg in Gravette on July 19, 1948. They lived in Maysville and Moscow, KS, before moving to Emmett in 1962. She worked for J. R. Simplot Company before attending beauty school and becoming a cosmetologist in 1969. She owned her shop in Nampa and later worked at Lois & Co. until retiring in 2000. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by sisters Billie Lou Tucker and Helen Allen and nephews Cortney and Ronald Tucker.

Survivors include her husband Glen Wittenburg; three daughters, Norma Johnson and husband Gary of Grants Pass, OR, Glenda Ham and husband Tom of Boise and Carla Porath and husband Jim of Emmett; a sister, Dorothy Moser of Hugoton, KS; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and relatives in Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Graveside service was held March 25 at Emmett Cemetery under direction of Potter Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
