Terry Lee Johnson

Terry Lee Johnson, 60, of Gentry, died March 25, 2010.

He was born June 25, 1949, in Pauls Valley, Okla., to Faye Davis and Frank Johnson. He was employed at La-Z-Boy for 33 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his father; and a sister, Kathy Webster.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Johnson of Gentry; two sons, Kevin Johnson of Waxhaw, N.C., and Tom Hudgens of Siloam Springs; four daughters, Jerri Dalrymple of Gentry, Koni Joyner of Elm Springs, PJ Cooper of Shadduck, Okla., and Lorraine Hudson of Ardmore, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clay Johnson of Lexington, Okla., and Dwight Johnson of Sand Springs, Okla.; and a sister, Nan Hunt of Tulsa, Okla.

A Memorial service was held March 29at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cherokee City, with Tim Cypert officiating.

Thomas Charles Welch

Thomas Charles Welch, 82, of Gentry, died March 24, 2010, at Circle Of Life Hospice in Springdale.

He was born Feb. 27, 1928, in Fort Gibson, Okla., to Thomas Charles WelchSr. and Mary Welch. He was a World War II Army Veteran and worked for Franklin Electric until his retirement in 1990. He attended the Colcord Church of Christ in Colcord.

He was preceded in Welch death by one granddaughter, Jenny Bishop; one brother, Raymond Welch; and one sister, Margaret West.

Survivors include his wife Charlene of the home; two daughters, Betty Bishopof Gentry and Mary Cockrell of Colcord; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Welch of Muskogee, Okla., and Billy Welch of Oktaha, Okla.; and one sister, Elizabeth Cable of Stigler, Okla.

Funeral services were March 29 at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, with Larry Ellis officiating. Burial followed at Dickson Cemetery near Cherokee City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colcord Church of Christ in Colcord, Okla., or to the Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72764.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Christy Lords Ann Charlet Veltman

Christy Lords Ann Charlet Veltman, 54, of Gentry, died March 23, 2010, at her home.

She was born Oct 24, 1955, in New Orleans, La., to Harold Honore Charlet and Emelda Gruntz Charlet. She married Mark A. Veltman Oct. 22, 1976 in Algiers, La. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith. She enjoyed sewing, making Christmas ornaments, gardening and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Lori Ann Charlet.

Survivors Include her husband of the home; her mother of Algiers; one son, Karl Eric Veltman and Alecia Stephens of the home; one daughter, Kelli Jean Veltman of the home; four brothers, Harold Charlet Jr. of Marrero, La., Wayne Charlet of Marrero, Kerry P. Charlet of Florida, and Jeffery Charlet of Slidell, La.; one sister, Julie Penick of Springfield, Mo.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 3, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel, with Harold Thornton offiating. Cremation arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
