DECATUR — Two Decatur seniors placed in four events at the 2A state track meet in Mineral Springs on April 30.

Senior Chelsie Woodall won fifth place in both the 100 meter and 300 meterhurdle events. Senior Trent Arnold placed sixth in the 1,600 meter event and seventh in the 800 meter event.

Woodall and Arnold competed against dozens of students from schools across Arkansas in each event, according to coach Stan Ellis.

“For 2A that makes Chelsea the fifth best hurdler in the state. It’s kind of a big deal,” he said.

“Our conference did really well at state. Magazine boys won first place at most of their events and all of the teams were in the top 10 when they finished,” Ellis said.
