Ramon Jerry Asencio

Ramon Jerry Asencio, 59, of Floresville, Texas, died April 28, 2010, at the Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

He was born July 19, 1950, to Ramon Asencio and Irene Luedecke Weldon and lived most of childhood in Galesburg, IIl.

He served in the U.S. Army and was an M.P. He went to work for the John Deere Foundry in 1973 and retired when it closed in 1992. He moved to Arkansas in 1993 and to Texas in 1997. He worked for ACR Quality Communications in San Antonio as an installer from 1997 until his death.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Asencio; his father, Ramon Chavez Asencio; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Thelma Luedecke; and paternal grandparents, Luaro and Sophia Asencio.

Survivors include his mother, Irene Luedecke Weldon of Gentry; his wife, Peggy Asencio of the home; one son, Jerry Asencio of East Moline, Ill.; two daughters, Julie Asencio and Bonita Goebel of Carbon Cliff, Ill.; four grandchildren; five brothers, David Asencio of Gentry, Mike Asencio of Celina, Texas, Paul Asencio of Springdale, Mark Asencio of Floresville, and Tony Asencio of Galesburg, Ill.; four sisters, Terry Brown of Siloam Springs, Debra Still Smith of Cave Springs, Kaye Cripps of Gentry, and Diana Asencio of Shaumburg, Ill.; two step-sisters, Vicki Clark of Nokomis, Fla., and Beth Sholl of Galesburg; step-mother Shirley Asencio of Galesburg, and mother of his children, Shirley Asencio of East Moline, Ill.

Cremation arrangements were by Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

Katherine Elaine Berg

Katherine Elaine Berg, 50, of Gentry, died Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1959 in San Jose, Calif., to Louis Berg and Berdine Kimberlin Berg. She moved to Rocky Comfort, Mo., in 1974, from California. She married Philine Davies on Feb. 22, 2006, in Eureka Springs. She was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Bentonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her domestic partner, Philine of Gentry; one daughter, Amanda Davies of Gentry; one brother, Allen Berg of Neosho, Mo.; three sisters, Rebecca Zucca of Rocky Comfort, Mo., Donna Stalker of Rocky Comfort, and Gloria Brouse of Bentonville.

A memorial service was held May 1 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Bentonville.

Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory in Bella Vista.

Joseph Dalla Rosa

Joseph John Dalla Rosa, of Piedmont, Okla., died April 21, 2010, at his home.

He was born Aug. 27, 1935, in Gentry, to John and Nellie Dalla Rosa. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a disabled veteran. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a Catholic.

He is survived by his wife, Paula, of the home; three sons, Vincent, John and Joseph, and their wives; four grandsons; and two great-granddaughters; two brothers, Vic and wife Pat of Oklahoma City. Okla., and Raymond and wife Marilyn of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two sisters, Barbara Immel and husband Wayne, and Margaret Munea, all of Rogers.

Services were held in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Oklahoma City on April 26.

Ray Dean Harrington

Ray Dean Harrington, 79, of Decatur, Arkansas, left this world May 1, 2010.

Born June 9, 1930, in Decatur, Arkansas, he was the son of Alva Harrington and Lily Wilmoth Harrington. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur, and a 39 year employee of Peterson Industries. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War Conflict.

On January 31, 1955, he married Virginia Mae Reed in Bentonville, Arkansas. Ray was a loving father and husband who will be missed forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alva Harrington and Lily Harrington, and brothers, Devon and Charles Harrington.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Nancy Elaine Harrington, of Conroe, Texas; one son, Timothy Ray Harrington and wife Tracey, of Decatur Arkansas; grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, Ciara Harrington, Dillon Harrington, Kyle Shaffer and Haley Shaffer; great grandchildren, Waylon, Lily, Annie and Lauryn. He is also survived by brothers, Joe, Jimmy, Kenny and Danny Harrington, and sisters Dorothy Fortner, Nina Blaine, Sue Bultina and Brenda Guess; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at First Baptist Church, Decatur, Arkansas, with Kevin Boldra officiating. Burial will follow at Falling Springs Cemetery, near Decatur, Arkansas. To sign the online guest book, visit www.wassonfuneralhome.com.

Helen Irene “Nanny” Larkin, 83, died April 26, 2010, in Springdale.

She was born in Amarillo, Texas, to Otis and Annie Parker. She was a member of the Bentonville Church of Christ. She loved taking care of children, traveling, gardening and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Larkin; three brothers, Otis Parker, Raymond Parker, and T.L. Parker; one sister, Mary Laughlin; and a stepdaughter, Linda Hunt.

She is survived by five children, Judy Bunch and her husband Johnny of Bentonville, Phyllis Landwehr and her husband Bill of Decatur, Patricia Markert and her husband Dave of Las Vegas, Nev., Michael Holzkamper and his wife Betty of Clarksville, Tenn., Paulette Oehlert and her husband Jerry of Bentonville; four stepchildren, Paula Bailey of Bentonville, Karen Augustine of Rogersville, Mo., Randy Larkin of Farmington, Diane Pierce of Rogersville, Mo.; two sisters, Wanda Turner of Tallahassee, Fla., and Jessie Anderson of Longview, Texas. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren.

Services were held April 29 at Bentonville Church of Christ, with Walton Hook and William Spurlock officiating.
