Youths exiting bus struck by SUV

— Three Gentry area youths were hit by a motorist on West Third Street (Arkansas Highway 12) when they got off a church bus and crossed the roadway in front of the bus just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to a release from the Arkansas State Police, a church bus was stopped and unloading on the north side of the highway, just east of Giles Street. Three boys, ages 5, 7 and 16, were attempting to cross the street and went in front of thebus and stepped out into the westbound traffic lane where they were struck by a westbound 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Rebecca Williamson, 41, of Gentry, the release states.

The three boys were transported to Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Injuries did not appear to be life threatening, the release states. Williams and her passenger were not injured in the crash.

No other information on the injured youths had been released at press time.

The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police.
