GRAVETTE — The Gifted and Talented Education group from Gravette Middle School participated in the Middle School Science Olympiad on Tuesday, April 27, at the Jones Center. Gifted students from nine school districts competed.

GATE Instructor Rachel Gibson reported that Gravette Middle Schoolstudents took first place in Grab a Gram and Science Pentathlon, second in Paper Rockets and Picture This and third in Crossword Science, Egg Drop and Can Race.

Those who participated in the Olympiad from the eighth grade were Carson Alsup, Trey Hicks, Cally Irvin, Joshua Lockhart, LaceyNewell, Terence Pierce, Cody Robinson, Amanda Varner and Shaelee Walderbach. Seventh grade students who participated were Rian Austin, Jay Donham, Ella Duke, Hunter Grimes, Morgan Leach, Megan McAfee, Emily Miller, Dillan Sims, Cody Smith and Jared Williams.
