BENTON COUNTY — Benton County experienced what apparently was its’ first recorded earthquake in recent times when a 2.5 tremor occurred about 11 a.m. last Thursday.
According to experts the quake was centered in the Centerton area and was felt as far away as Decatur, Bentonville and Bella Vista.
No damage was reported but a flurry of calls were reported by agencies after the tremor was felt. It was accompanied by what was described as a muffled explosive noise.
