Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program For Seniors

A Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program is announced by the Office of Human Concern and other agencies including the N. W. Arkansas Farmers’ Market Alliance, Ark. Department of Aging and Adult Services and USDA.

Qualifying seniors may receive $50 in coupons for farmers’ market fresh produce and applications are being accepted now, according to Allyson Ransom, director of the Gravette Farmers’ Market.

The Gravette market is a participant along with most area markets including those in Bentonville and Gentry.

To be accepted, applicants must live in Benton, Washington, Carroll or Benton counties and must meet monthly income requirements. Persons may sign up at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center (date and times to be announced) or at the Gravette Market May 29 from 8 to 11 a.m.
