— The weather stayed nice for Mother’s Day. Hope all mothers had a great day.

Brittany Crawley took second place in the dairy party ideas category in a contest last week at Bentonville. Congratulations, Brittany.

Earl Holloway passed away Friday afternoon. Funeral service was graveside at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at 1 p.m. Monday, May 10. Sympathy is extended to the family.

Anneta (Killion) Hoskins and a lady friend from Fayetteville visited Jewel Lukens Tuesday afternoon. Anneta is the daughter of the late Lee and Ruth Killion.

Patti King of Lowell visited in the home of Jack and Sylvia Tucker Sunday. She came over for Mother’s Day.

I had a surprise when I was in the hospital at Bentonville. My grandson, Sheldon Tucker, who is attending college in Hawaii, came to see me. His group was in Florida for competition. Steve and Susan had gone down to watch them. Sheldon missed a day of school to come and see me. I was glad he did. He also visited me again before he left.

Sammie Sappington of Fayetteville visited her grandparents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, one day this week.

Those visiting in the home of Marvin and Bert Ballmann for Mother’s Day were Eddy and Leslie Ballmann and children Jackie and Cord, Matt and Karla Ballmann and Jacob, Luke Ballmann, Kevin and Diana Graham, Wendy and Katy Stidham.

My granddaughter, Tracy Warren, came over and visited me Sunday afternoon. We had a good visit and I enjoyed it.

Shelly Bishop and daughter Hayley visited Jack and Sylvia Tucker Sunday afternoon. Shelly had visited them on Thursday also and gave her grandma Sylvia a permanent.

Eva Rea (Wardlaw) Fincher and children Zack and Selena of Tulsa, OK, visited Orpha Wardlaw on Saturday, an early Mother’sDay visit which Orpha enjoyed very much.

Steve and Susan Tucker of Bella Vista came after me Sunday morning to go to Sunday school and church at Maysville Bible Church. Steve was the guest speaker, showing films and giving an update on their Wilmott ministry.We are so glad to see how they are progressing on this mission. They took me out to eat for Mother’s Day, the first time I had been out except to go to doctor and therapy since I came home. I enjoyed the day.

Gary and Helen Chism visited me for Mother’s Day and brought nice gifts. I enjoyed their visit and gifts.

Gary and Helen Chism, Byron and TracyWarren and Skyler, SylviaTucker and Patti King visited me on a Sunday afternoon while I was in rehab at Fayetteville. I thank each and everyone who visited me at Bentonville, Fayetteville and here at home. It meant a lot to me.

Clifton and Judy Tucker of Owasso, OK, came over for a couple of days during my stay in the hospital and my brothers Jim Vandiver and Vernon Vandiver and Janis, my sisters Marie and husband Jim and Frances were all there for me. Clifton and Judy will be back Memorial Day weekend.

Julian Lovell’s family all went to Pocahontas, AR, last Saturday night where Alex participated in the track contest.

Sylvia Tucker visited me on Friday afternoon.We had a good visit. She also spent some time with me after I came home from rehab which I enjoyed also.

I am doing fine, still taking some outpatient therapy but will soon be through with that. Anyway all the therapy is what helped me be where I am now. It’s so good to be home.

Steve, Susan and I stopped at Norma Holloway’s on our way to Gravette Sunday. Bruce and Leta Wilbanks of Tulsa were there so we had a short visit with them. They had been here for the illness and death of Leta’s dad, Earl Holloway. They will be here for a few days.
