Hollands, Sullivans to celebrate their wedding anniversaries

The children and grandchildren of Loy and Sue Sullivan and Bruce and Mary Ellen Holland are pleased to announce the celebration of their parent’s wedding anniversaries. The Sullivan’s will be celebrating 60 years and the Holland’s 55 years.

Sue and Mary Ellen are sisters and have lived next door to each other in Highfill for the past 40 years.

Loy Sullivan and Sue Epperson were married May 29, 1950. They have three children: Kathy Geneson of Eureka Springs, Kenny Sullivan of Fayetteville and Mary Jech of Gentry.

Loy owned and operated a sawmill and lumber business in Highfill for many years. Sue taught at the Benton County Sunshine School, served on the Carroll Electric Board of Directors, as well as served in many capacities in the Highfill community and First Baptist Church of Highfill.

Bruce Holland and Mary Ellen Epperson were married May 23, 1955. They have four children; Cece Collier of Springdale, Dianne Burrus of Gentry, Bryan Holland of Centerton and Denise Etris of Decatur.

Bruce has been a Southern Baptist pastor for over 55 years, serving churches in southeast Missouri and northwest Arkansas. He also taught school for over 25 years. Mary Ellen is a retired teacher, serving 25 years in the Bentonville Schools.

They are currently serving at Osage Mills Baptist Church in Healing Springs.

Friends and family are invited to come and celebrate with the Sullivan and Holland families at a drop-in reception, from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, at the First Baptist Church in Highfill.
