She is survived by her son, Victor Gates Robinson and his wife Anne of Morgan Hill, Calif.; her daughter-in-law Mary Ann Robinson; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Imogene Gates; her husband, Hal W. Dickerson; her son, H. Clay Robinson; her sister, Susan Schwartz; and her brothers, Robert and Richard Gates. At her request, she was cremated, and a family memorial service will be held in late June.

• –––––AGNES NOSAL LUKAS, 91, of Maumelle passed away Monday, May 17, 2010. She was retired seamstress from Tuff-Nut garment factory, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in North Little Rock and Altar Society. Mrs. Lukas was an active worker in her church.

She is survived by two daughters, Janie Althoff of North Little Rock and Marty Lukas of Maumelle; two sisters, Katie Borkowski of Michigan and Rose Broadbent of Colorado; four grandchildren, Brian Montgomery of Little Rock, Mike Montgomery of Oklahoma, Karen Althoff and Steven Althoff, both of Maumelle; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Lukas; parents, Jake and Bernice Nosal; and son, David Lukas.

Preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Frances Vinson; and brothers, William E., J.D., Joe Rex and Bobby Vinson, he is survived by his daughters, Vicky Fran and Larry Fowler, and Shery Rae and Steve Lamkin; sisters, Dorothy Emmick and Linda Harrod; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

• –––––Major ROBERT A. WINZERLING, retired, 77, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, May 17, 2010. He was retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years. During his service, he had three tours in Vietnam and flew missions into Laos and Cambodia. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 37 years. During retirement, he enjoyed doting on his grandchildren and just spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Georgia Winzerling of North Little Rock; two sons, Robert J. Winzerling and wife Marcella of Jacksonville, and Stephen Winzerling and wife Beth of Houston, Texas; daughter, Mary Wallin, and husband John of North Little Rock; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Kate and Claire Wallin, Anthony, Samuel and Rebecca Winzerling; three brothers, John Winzerling and wife Flo of Columbia, Mo., Rev. James Winzerling and William Winzerling, both of St. Louis, Mo.; and brother-in-law, Bob Yarber of San Diego, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Winzerling; and sister, Mary Yarber.

ALEXANDER — James Dale Wise, of Alexander, Ark., entered this world on May 16, 1935, and on his 75th birthday, May 16, 2010, he left this world to be with his heavenly Father. While on this earth he blessed all those whom he met and was loved by all. He was born in Washington, Ind., to the late Wilbur R. Wise and Emma (Hart) Wise.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Paul S. Wise; and his brother, Lew E. Wise. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Patricia Wise; six children, Michael Wise and wife Anne, Deborah Turner and husband Ray, Jay Wise and wife Sharon, James Wise and wife Renee, Emma K. Dutton and husband Bryan and Richard J. Dixon and wife Amy; 18 grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.

He loved sharing his passions: being outdoors, hunting, fishing and golf with his children, grandchildren and friends. He adored his children and grandchildren and the joy they brought to his life.

• –––––ARKADELPHIA — Cory Ray Beene, age 24, of the Curtis Community near Arkadelphia died Sunday, May 16, 2010, in Arkadelphia. Cory was an emergency room technician at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He was an avid volunteer fireman, serving as a Captain for the Curtis Volunteer Fire Department and a volunteer fireman with the Arkadelphia Fire Department. Cory loved his family, friends and his beloved dog, Gunner. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting.

His maternal grandparents, Arthur and Gladys Benson and paternal grandfather, Raymond Beene preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother and father, Ray and Linda Beene of Curtis, Ark.; three sisters, Amy Bright and husband, Jeremy of Hollywood, Ark.; Becky Foster and husband, Roger of Hot Springs, Ark.; his twin sister, Sarah Overbey and husband, Brent of Arkadelphia, Ark.; his paternal grandmother, Avanell Beene of Curtis, Ark.; four nieces, Jaden and Jacie Bright both of Hollywood, Ark.; Allison and Kourtni Foster both of Hot Springs, Ark.; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

• –––––ARKADELPHIA — Dr. James T. Blackmon, age 77, of Arkadelphia died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at his home. He was born August 23, 1932, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of the late George Truett and Bessie Grace Hicks Blackmon. Dr. Blackmon was a 1950 graduate of Arkadelphia High School, a 1953 graduate of Ouachita Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree, and a 1964 graduate of the University of Arkansas College of Medicine. Dr. Blackmon enlisted in the military service through ROTC in college in 1950, served on active duty from 1953-1958, U.S. Army Reserve from 1958-1962, in the U.S Army Reserve Medical Corps 1962-1992 and was discharged with the rank of Colonel.

Dr. Blackmon began practice in General Medicine and Surgery in Arkadelphia in 1968 and ended his office practice in 2006. He was an active staff member of Clark County Memorial Hospital and held numerous leadership positions.

Survivors include his step-son, Richard Thomas of Arkadelphia, Ark.; step-daughters, Lynn Judd of Bluffton, S.C.; and Catherine Conner of La Grange, Ky.; a brother, Kenneth Blackmon and wife Lillian of Arkadelphia, Ark.; a sister Lillian Blackmon Crenshaw of Baltimore, Md.; other survivors include nieces Stephanie Phillips, Pamela Bailey, and Cynthia Blackmon.

Services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday May 22, 2010, at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be 1:15 until 1:45 p.m., Saturday prior to the service. Burial will be at 4:15 p.m., Saturday at Salem cemetery in the East End Community near Benton.

• –––––BARLING — Marie Frances Wilson, 94, of Barling passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, in Fort Smith. She was born September 1, 1915, to the late Victor Hug and Anna Marie Risse Hug. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Keenagers and Presentation Circle and a Homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Howell Wilson. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, John, Frank J., Tony, and George Hug.

Mr. Lancaster owned and operated B&L Electric, was a farmer and a U.S. Army Air Corp. Veteran. He was a member of the Arkansas Cattleman’s Association, and the Saline County and Paron School Board.

Mr. Lancaster was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Francis Belle Lancaster, and three brothers, Marvin, John and Eulis Lancaster. He is survived by his wife, Ellene Lancaster; two sons, Pete Lancaster and wife, Margaret, and Ray Lancaster and wife, Mary; daughter, Virginia Lancaster, all of Benton; three grandchildren, Melissa, Vince and Kelsey, and three great-grandchildren, Madie, Jack and Ashton.

• –––––CONWAY — Deller Mae West of Conway passed away Monday, May 17, 2010. Born April 3, 1924, in Enola, Arkansas, to the late Luther Grimes and Pearl (Hatfield). She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She is survived by a son, Ricky West, of Conway; two daughters, Ruthie Nguyen and Regana Millsaps of Conway; a sister, Myrtle Gonzalez of Conway; seven grandchildren, Dwayne, Derek, and Amy Millsaps, Brenda Orr, Kathy Vaughan, Tony Tucker, and Tina Nguyen; and 26 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a daughter-inlaw, Elizabeth West Fenner, and her husband, John, of Conway, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl West, a son, Joe West, of Conway; and five sisters and two brothers.

• –––––GREERS FERRY — Albert Michael Vajda, 69, passed away on May 15, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. Albert was born in Plainfield, New Jersey, on July 13, 1940, to Albert Michael Vajda Sr. and Mary (Mentel) Vajda. He graduated from Cranford High School, attended Lehigh University and earned a B.A. degree in accounting from Upsala College. Albert worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. for 25 years as an accountant, in management consulting and in their world headquarters data processing department, during which time he met Sharon Leeder, who became his wife in 1980. They “retired” to Greers Ferry, Ark., in 1986 and in 1992 started Lake Real Estate, which they successfully ran as a team until his illness made it too difficult for him to continue to work. Al was very active in the Greers Ferry community, both socially and politically.

Albert is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sharon; his three children, Albert Michael Vajda III (Elizabeth Ann) of Clinton, N.J., Stephen Vajda of Berkeley, Calif., and Allison Vajda (Rick Raab-Faber) of Albuquerque, N.M.; his first wife and mother of his children, Elizabeth (Sean) Lussier of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Marianne (Tom) Horan of Savannah, Ga.; and brother, Paul of Batesville, Ark.; four grandsons, Albert Michael IV and Jack Henry Vajda of Clinton, N.J.; Isaiah and Archie Vajda of Albuquerque, N.M.; several nieces and nephews, other extended family, and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as several of his best and much loved four legged friends. He will be greatly missed and held in loving memory by many.

Pallbearers: Richard Bagwell, David Sharpe, Roy Gingery, Dr. Mark Davis, Floyd Bradley, and Rick Raab-Faber. Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Dupasquier, Richard Atkins, Billy Moll, Steven Leeder and Terry Allen.

Services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fairfield Bay on May 21, 2010, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be at the church at 1 p.m. prior to the service.

• –––––HAMBURG — Tommy Eubanks, 68, of Hamburg, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at his residence in Hamburg. Mr. Eubanks was a native of Ashley County and a former resident of West Monroe, Louisiana. He moved back to Hamburg in 1962. He was a Service Station Manager for many years, and he served in the Arkansas National Guard. He was a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church, and he loved to work in his garden and cook.

He is preceded in death by a son, Allen Eubanks; his parents, Percy and Johnnie Smith Eubanks, and two brothers, Bobby & Billy Eubanks. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Higginbotham Eubanks; two daughters, Alisa Ware and husband, Chris, and Andee Pennington and husband, Kevin, all of Hamburg; three sisters, Ruby Bennett of North Little Rock, Carolyn McDonald of West Monroe, Louisiana, and Melba Walker of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters-in-law, Glenda Eubanks of West Monroe, Louisiana, and Jeanette Eubanks of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Charlie, Corrie and Sydnie Ware, Percy and Payton Pennington, and a host of nieces and nephews.

• –––––HOPE — Mr. J.T. Honeycutt, 87, Hope, Arkansas, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. J.T. was born April 28, 1923, DeAnn, Arkansas, to Odus and Ivy Ruth Prince Honeycutt. He graduated from St. Louis College of Mortuary Science, St. Louis, Missouri, and received his License from the Arkansas State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers on August 14, 1949, and became a Licensed Funeral Director in 1957. He went to work in Fordyce for Benton Funeral Home; then on to Herndon-Cornelius Funeral Home, Hope, and later for The Brazzel Funeral Homes in both Hope and Prescott until his health forced him into retirement. He was a former Hempstead County Coroner, having served 26 years; a member of First United Methodist Church, Hope, and Century Bible Class; former member Hope Lions Club, World War II Veteran having served in the 153rd Infantry. He enjoyed fishing and vacationing with his family.

He is preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Reed, Verda Mae Virden and Sue Staner.

He was owner and operator of PK’s Body Shop for over 20 years. He served in the US Navy, during the Vietnam Conflict, on the flight deck of the USS Kitty Hawk.

He is survived by four children: Samuel Griffin of Daly City, Calif., Dayna (David) Anderson of Rialto, Calif., Justene (Roy) Audler of Vernon, Fla., and Paula Kelly (Jeff) Coe of Lemoore, Calif.; his two sisters: Betty Park of Lonoke, Ark., and Julie Williams of Ola, Ark.; two nephews: Pat L. Hoyt graduated from Little Rock High school, served in WWII in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer First Class on the U.S.S. Trathan as a Radar Operator. He was a dealer in buying and selling livestock, and member of Lakewood Methodist Church. He loved hunting and fishing, but most of all his work.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lila Rodman; daughter, Christy Boles and husband, Dick, of Little Rock; brothers, John D. Rodman and wife, Alpha, of Little Rock, Joe Rodman and wife, Margaret, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and stepmother, Frances Rodman, of El Paso, Arkansas.

• –––––MOUNTAIN HOME — Gordon Joe “Little Joe” Norcross of Mountain Home, Ark., passed away on May 16, 2010, in his home after a long illness. He was born in Frederick, Okla., on Sept. 3, 1923, to Amos Pryor and Ruth Plumlee Norcross. He was married June 15, 1945, to Jacquetta Rich in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Mr. Norcross had a long career in the automobile business. He started his career as a general manager for Dub Richardson Ford in Oklahoma City, Okla. In 1964, he moved to Fort Smith, Ark., and purchased the Chrysler Plymouth dealership, where he was well-known for the television show “Little Joe’s Country Caravan.” In 1975, he purchased the Ford dealership in Mountain Home, Ark., and relocated to this area. “Little Joe” had a keen business sense and pursued many other successful businesses apart from his automotive endeavors. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and held several offices in the Arkansas Automobile Dealer’s Association.

Mr. Norcross was preceded in death by his parents; Jackie, his wife of 60 years; and one brother, Horace C. Norcross. He is survived by two sons: Randy Rich Norcross (Susan) and Joe Mitchell Norcross (Kathy), all of Mountain Home, Ark.

He is also survived by four grandchildren: Rich Norcross (Dora) of Mountain Home, Ark.; Matthew Norcross (Kara) of Harrison, Ark.; Abby Norcross Welytok (Johnson) of Ozark, Mo.; and Katie Norcross Elkins (Chris) of Fayetteville, Ark. Additionally, he is survived by six great-grandchildren: Annie Grace Norcross, Maggie Kate Norcross, Thea Lorynn Norcross, Ada Ferrin Norcross, Bennett Ellis Elkins and Ella Jane Elkins. He is also survived by two nieces and one nephew.

• –––––MULBERRY — Herbert Howard Hinton, age 88, of Mulberry, Ark., died Monday at Springbrook Health & Rehab in Hazen, Ark.

He retired from GTE in Hazen in 1977 and moved to Mulberry where he worked for Jerry Lindsay Cable Construction, and raised cattle on his farm. He served his country in WWII as a Fireman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Lowry Destroyer that patrolled off the coast of Japan in Tokyo Bay and many hazardous Pacific operations. He was a Master Mason in the Hazen Masonic Lodge.

He was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Mulberry to Clea and Elizabeth McCain Hinton and was preceded by his parents; a daughter, Karen Gelene Hinton; three brothers: Sonny, Delter and Willie Hinton; and four sisters: Emma Bailey, Irene Davidson, Earline Fisher and Juanita Bailey.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 20th at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Hight Cemetery.

NASHVILLE — Graveside memorial services for Ara Baldridge Sanders, age 94, will be Friday, May 21, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the family plot in Pearson Cemetery near Heber Springs, Ark. She will be buried near her Pearson, Ark., birthplace where she and her twin sister, Ava, were born June 19, 1915. Ara’s death occurred Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in Nashville, Tenn., where she resided for several years. From early years her parents, Harvey and Myrtle Webb Baldridge, stressed the importance of education and for this reason the family moved by wagon to Conway, Ark. A good education and constant learning were continuing goals for Mrs. Sanders during her entire lifetime. Following graduation from Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) in 1936, she taught English in several public schools in Arkansas. While teaching at Hughes, Ark., she met and married Frank Sanders, the coach at the same school.

He preceded her in death in 1998. During their 58 years of marriage, 40 of those years were spent as teacher or administrator in the public schools of Arkansas. As a couple they were career teachers in Florida and Alabama. Her last position was head librarian at Sneed College, Albertville, Ala. During her teaching career she continued her educational goals and love of learning earning Masters Degrees at George Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn., and University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Stan Sanders, Lyden, N.M., Claude Franklin Sanders, Jr., Westpoint, Tenn.; and daughter, Virginia Stanfield, Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Dr. William Baldridge and Dr. Doyle Baldridge, both of Shreveport, La. Her oldest daughter, Sandra Jane VanDremmerlin; and her twin sister, Ava Ruth Linn preceded her in death. Ara was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Her family and a host of former students and colleagues mourn her passing but celebrate her life of service.
