Memorial Service At Hillcrest Cemetery

A Memorial Day Service at Hillcrest Cemetery will be held Monday, May 31, at 10 a.m. near the flagpole in the center of the cemetery.

The service is an annual project of Gravette American Legion Post 25 in honor of veterans who have served our nation.

Thomas E. Bass of Hiwasse, a combat veteran of World War II and Korea, will be the keynote speaker.

Music will be by the Gravette High School Band under the direction of Mr. Mike Johnson.

This year members of Gravette Girl Scout Troop 5497 will serve as Color Guard at the start of the program.

The Avenue of Flags willbe posted in the cemetery during the entire Memorial Day weekend, according to J. R. Gibbs, Post Adjutant.

Legion members and volunteers will raise the flags Saturday, May 29, at 8 a.m. They will fly continually and be lowered Monday, May 31, at 5 p.m. Volunteers to help are always appreciated in performing this service.
