Wednesday, May 26, 2010

— Talbot Library and Museum will again be taking part in the observance of Old Settlers’ Day in Colcord on Saturday, June 5.

Old Settlers’ Day is an annual event, originally known as the annual Colcord Picnic. Descendants of area pioneers will be in attendance. The day's events include a parade, annual rodeo and carshow. Food and music is available throughout the town, as well.

The library and museum will be hosting its annual book and bake sale on that day, offering homemade baked goods and a variety of new and used books for sale.

Grilled hamburgers will be available at lunch time and live music will be played on the museum grounds throughout the day.

The library and museum will observe its 20th anniversary by serving cake and punch at 1 p.m. A video presentation will be shown in the old Springtown School House, now located and refurbished on the museum property located at 500 S. Colcord Ave.

Proceeds of the events at the library will be used to keep Talbot Library and Museum open and operating.
