Pack of Dogs Maul Woman At Decatur

A Decatur woman was mauled by a pack of dogs while walking in Veterans Park in Decatur recently.

Sue Etris was hospitalized after five dogs attacked her and pulled her to the ground, whereshe suffered numerous lacerations and a possible broken shoulder.

Julie Oaks, who witnessed the attack, and another neighbor, W. T. Landwehr, managed to help rescue the woman.

The dogs, all of which had been vaccinated, were owned by Connie Ross. They were taken to Country View Animal Clinic in Gravette where they were euthanized at the owner’s request, the police report said.
