Gentry students earn spots on regional honor choir

GENTRY - Five members of the Gentry High School Varsity Singer Choir earned spots in the Northwest Arkansas High School All-Region Honor Choir.

Kaitlyn White, Jessica Austad, Tre’ Ascensio-Porter, Kaylin Cripps and Jurnee West have all earned spots on the honor choir. Ascencio-Porter also received a high enough scoring to audition for the Arkansas All-State Choir in February.

The Gentry students competed against 900 high school students from across northwest Arkansas. The students learned four choral pieces and auditioned for judges at Har-ber High School in Springdale on Oct. 2. All five will participate in the Northwest Arkansas All-Region Choir Clinic on Saturday.

Gentry Junior High students Mallory Morris and Emiley Dilbeck also qualified to be a part of the Junior High All-Region Choir. They will participate in the northwest Arkansas Junior High All-Region Choir Clinic on Saturday. The two Gentry students competed against 1,200 junior high students from northwest Arkansas.

All of these Gentry students will be in a concert at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, at Springdale Public High School, and the public is invited to attend.
