Planning and Zoning Commission grants appeals

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

GENTRY - The Gentry Planning and Zoning Commission heard and approved two appeals at its Oct. 21 meeting.

A set-back variance was granted to Gary and Judy Barker, making it possible for them to build an 8-foot front porch with a 2-foot roof overhang attheir residence, located at 742 Parks Circle. The 9-foot variance was granted because the porch would be an open porch for disability access to the home.

A second appeal was brought by Williiam Long, owner of two 50-foot lots at 205 N. Collins. The Longs wished to put up a storage building on the property but couldn’t because it would possibly be on a lot line.

The Planning and Zoning Commission agreed to allowing the building permit if the lot lines are dissolved by the city council. The council, on Monday, unanimously approved the dissolution of the lot lines.
