Love Lights a Tree fundraiser planned

Project honors victims and survivors

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

— The fifteenth annual “Love Lights a Tree” project will be held this year in Gravette, according to Ruth Foster, who has chaired the event since its inception.

The project raises funds for the American Cancer Society, as the tree is lit with red, white and blue lights.

White lights represent those who have succumbed to the disease, red honor the survivors of cancer and blue lights recognize service personnel or others whom a donor wishes to recognize.

A $5 donation is suggested for each light. Send to Ruth Foster, Box 1075, Gravette, or contact Coleen Dickinson or Mary Beth Mitchell who assist in the project. Include the name of the person honored, the color light, donor’s name and relationship to the person honored.

The tree in Centennial Park will be lit at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, in a ceremony that includes reading the names of those honored.

All donations will go to research and service programs for the American Cancer Society of Northwest Arkansas.
