GRAVETTE — Local artist Susan Edgmon recently won a number of awards for her paintings. In October, her painting entitled “French Lady” won third place in the Arkansas Pastel Society Art Show in Little Rock, sponsored by the Thea Foundation. On Nov. 13, she was again honored by the Arkansas Pastel Society at its Springdale show, winning first place with “Rose Pink Beauty” and second place with “Flaming Lilly II.” “Flaming Lily II” was also chosen for the postcard award and used to promote the shows. Edgmon will also be hosting an open house at her studio and gallery, located at 16724 Stage Coach Road, Gravette, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, and from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5. She will offer for sale paintings, prints and cards and plans to serve refreshments to guests and visitors.
