The weather hasn’t been bad for this time of year. We are still in need of rain.

Shelly Bishop visited her grandparents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, one day this week.

My brother, Jim Vandiver, came after me on Wednesday morning, then we went to Bentonville and got Vernon Vandiver and wife Janice and my sister Frances Sims. We went to Harrison to attend funeral services for our cousin, Lee Edgmon.

Christi Wardlaw of Little Rock has been visiting her mother, Orpha Wardlaw, this week. She will be returning home Thanksgiving Day after being with family members.

A large crowd attended the community Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday evening at Maysville. It is hosted by the Maysville E. H. Club each year. Jim Whisenant brought the invocation before we ate. Then he sang some pretty songs for us. It was an enjoyable evening with lots of good food and fellowship.

Jo Ellen Tucker of Lawrenceburg, Ind., visited me on Saturday. She had been to Conway and Russellville to see some of her cousins. She came up to see me and we went out to eat, then visited a couple of hours. She went back to Conway and left there Sunday for home.

Orpha Wardlaw went to Tulsa, Okla., on Thursday to attend her grandchildren Zack and Selena Fincher’s open house. They came home with her for a couple of days. They are children of Steve and Eva Rea (Wardlaw) Fincher.

On Friday evening my brothers Vernon and Jim Vandiver, sisters Marie Crawford and husband Jim and Frances Sims and sister-in-law Janis Vandiver went to Country Cottage at Locust Grove to eat. Our nephew, Jimmy Vandiver and wife Judy of Broken Arrow, met us there also. We enjoyed a nice evening.

Patti King and friend Petru, both of Lowell, and two of their visitors from Washington State, visited Jack and Sylvia Tucker Sunday afternoon.

Jewel Lukens reports her granddaughter, Geneva (Lovell) Beckman of St. Louis, has recovered very well from her cancer surgery. She is getting ready to go back to work. She got a good report, the cancer is gone.

The Indian-White Man Thanksgiving Dinner was held at Maysville Community Building on Saturday. There was a large crowd and it was an enjoyable day.

The Hunter and Summerfield families had their Thanksgiving dinner at the Maysville Community Building Sunday. I’m sure there was a lot of good food and fellowship.
