James Donald Cook

James Donald Cook, 83, of Gentry, died Nov. 21, 2010, at The VA Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born June 11, 1927, in Dangburn, to George E. Cook and Myrtle Deatherage Cook. He graduated from Berkley High School in Berkley, Calif. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He spent part of his younger life in Jonesboro. He worked for McKee Foods in Gentry until his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Siloam Springs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Little Cook, in 1997.

Survivors include one son, James Daniel Cook of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Rebecca Hurtado and Tabitha Hammons both of Tulsa, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Fayetteville National Cemetery, Fayetteville, with Charles Cash officiating.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Junior Lee Harrison

Junior Lee Harrison, 60, of Colcord, Okla., died Nov. 18, 2010, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Tulsa, Okla.

He was born May 2, 1950, in Colcord, to James Robert Harrison and Anna Mae Gibson Harrison. He was a lifelong resident of Colcord and was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; three sisters; and his parents.

Survivors include one son, Kenny Bigfeather and wife Carrie of Springdale; three daughters, Cheryl Denise Edwards and husband David of Kansas, Okla., Cindy Rena Harrison and Tina Machelle Kemper and husband Gary, all of Colcord; seven grandchildren; one brother, James Earl “Doc” Harrison of Watts, Okla.; and one sister, Betty Ames of Colcord.

Funeral services were Nov. 20 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Ralph DeVore officiating. Burial followed at Bell Cemetery, Adair County, Okla.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

James Earl Hawley

James Earl Hawley, 42, of Decatur died Nov. 15, 2010, in Bella Vista. He was born June 14, 1968, in Cairo, Ill., to Vernon Hawley and Doris Johnson.

Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers.

Donald Leonard Hoag

Donald Leonard Hoag, age 71, of Springdale and former resident of Sulphur Springs, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, in Springdale.

He was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Yates Center, Kan., to John Leo and Mary Francis Merewether Hoag.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Hoag of the home; two daughters, Valerie Holt and husband Russell of Rogers, and Susan Pendergraft and husband Kevin of Tontitown; one sister, Joyce Slater of Yates Center, Kan.; five grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Nov. 20 at Elm Springs United Methodist Church Chapel in Elm Springs, with Stewart Smith officiating.

Cremation arrangements were by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory of Fayetteville.

Vera Wallingford

Vera Wallingford, 81, of Skiatook, Okla., and formerly of Gravette, died Nov. 18, 2010, in Tulsa, Okla.

She was born on April 30, 1929.

She is survived by her children, Bobby Wishon and wife Claudine, Bill Stanley, Rita Cox, Becky Porter and husband Gary of Gravette; many grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Nov. 26, at Fountain of Life Church, 603 S. A, Skiatook.

William Junior Weeks

William Junior Weeks, 83, of Decatur died Nov. 16, 2010, at his home.

He was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Brownell, Kan., to William and Lena Holzer Weeks. He served in the Army and Navy during World War II and was the owner of Jim and Bill’s Texaco Station in Decatur. He married Betty January on June 21, 1952, in Bentonville. He was a member of the Decatur Methodist Church, Decatur.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; two sons, George Weeks and wife Charla of Springtown, and Terry Weeks and wife Rhonda of Tulsa, Okla.; a daughter, Jeannie Linam and husband Paul of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Nov. 20 at Decatur United Methodist Church, with James Longmate officiating. Burial followed at Decatur Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Barbara Kay Stein Barbara Kay Stein (Glass) passed away at her home in Claremore, OK on Nov. 2nd, after a two year struggle with cancer.

◊e daughter of Pearl Inez (Hall) Frye and Charles Herbert Glass, Barbara was born on June 27, 1949 in Siloam Springs, AR. She grew to maturity under the care of her grandparents, Raymond and Willord Glass in Springtown, AR. She married Kenneth Setser in Decatur, AR and they share a daughter, Katina (Setser) Moore. Barbara later married John Stein of Claremore, OK. Barbara worked many years for Lee Keeling & Assoc. She later worked for Miss Jackson’s, and Sak’s in Tulsa, OK. Vivacious with a winning personality and a talent for knowing just the right cosmetic solution.

She enjoyed the outdoors and took great pride in her fl ower gardens. She also had a special talent for decorating and design, and a great passion for ballroom dancing.

Preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
