Grant Helps Finance Gravette Exhibit Hall- Museum Project Progressing

Will Complement Historic Kindley Home Which Houses Museum

— With the walls up on a new exhibit hall for the Gravette Historical Museum, a crew from Walmart Design Division and local volunteers on a recent Friday completed rafter work at the building and the following day added decking and black tar paper on the roof.

Members of the group work with Steve Mitchael, who heads the Division. He is a member of the Gravette Museum Commission and designed the new 1,500 square foot structure. Located adjacent the Kindley Home on Charlotte Street, the building will complement that historic structure and will incorporate the adjacent building which houses the Gravette diorama.

The project is being funded by a $25,000 grant from the Arkansas Historical Preservation Program, together with local contributions. Contributions to help fund display cases, furnishings, etc. may be made at City Hall.
