Gravette Chamber meets to discuss plans

— At its most recent meeting, held October 6, the Gravette Chamber of Commerce completed plans for its City Council Candidate Forum which was held last Thursday night and con ducted other business.

Meeting at the Ozarks Community Hospital, the Chamber also discussed the annual Gravette Christmas parade. The date for the parade will be announced later.

The group learned that Old Tyme Tutors is seeking a location where that service can be provided Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. For information contact Dan Yates, Chamber president.

Bryan Johnson was named chair of a committee to discuss how best to present Gravette’s story to the world. Other committee members are Damon Wallace, Christy Green, Ken Foxx, Jim Singleton and Jayna Cardetti.

Yates opened discussion on how the perception of Gravette can be improved, including code enforcement (citizens keeping their properties clean and neat), creating jobs to bring people to the area and partnering of the Chamber with the City.

Andrea Kelly was named chair of the executive nominating committee. Members are Jim Singleton, Rickie Stark and Dan Yates.

The next Chamber meeting will be November 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the OCH basement. Persons interested in becoming a part of this revitalized organization are encouraged to contact Yates, 787-6171.
