GENTRY - Air Force Airman Andrew L. Carter graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
Carter is the son of Paul and Sheila Carter of Siloam Springs and a 2008 graduate of Gentry High School.
Army National Guard Pvt. Derek M. Walker graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.
He is the son of Jesse and Teri Monreal of Gann Road, Gentry, Ark.
Walker is a 2009 graduate of Gentry High School.
