Spooks come back!

If your heart needs a jolt and you wish to experience the horrors of the Halloween season, there is no shortage of places to go to do just that.

In the Gravette area, Keith and Kelly Morgan have again filled their yard with the spookiness of the season, and visitors are welcome to come out and drive down their driveway and through their circle drive and past the back yard and outbuildings to see the creatures there.

The display is the handiwork of Kelly, with the help of her husband Keith. And if you saw it last year, it’s gotten even bigger and better.

The Morgans live at the end of North Fork Drive - off Mt. Olive Road and across from the Metal Building Supply. Visitors may drive through during the evening hours through Oct. 31, and there is no charge for the experience.

For those who want to know the depths of the “Trail of Terror” or the “Haunted Cavern,” the Spanish Treasure Cave is again outfitted for the season and about 40 live helpers are dressed up and a part of the horrific experiences in the dark cave.

Each portion of the underground Halloween tour of horrors lasts about 25 minutes, according to cave owner Paul Linscott, with plenty to scare even the bravest of visitors.

The cave is located between Gravette and Sulphur Springs along Arkansas Highway 59, on the east side. It is open Thursday through Sunday, from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and later over the weekend.

Tickets are $8 for the Trail of Terror; $12 for the Haunted Cavern; or $18 for both.

Linscott doesn’t recommend the experience for young children but said those in their teen years and older love it. For more information or tickets, call Linscott at 787-6508.

In Gentry, a free haunted house will again be open in the old Mortuary building, just north of Main Street on Rust. The mortuary will be open during and following the Trick or Treat on Main Street on Saturday and again on Sunday night - though the number of helpers will be fewer on Sunday. The mortuary has grown from a regular trick-or-treat stop to a spooky place kids and adults can visit and tour.

And for those who visit the mortuary, don’t forget to stop by the Parker house, just north and east of the mortuary, on Saturday and Sunday night. It too is filled with spooks.
