Carol Carter

Carol Rose Carter, 66, of Colcord, Okla., died Oct. 19, 2010, at Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, Okla.

She was born Feb. 28, 1944, in Colcord, Okla., to Fred Kirby and Irene King Kirby. She was a farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church of Colcord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Carter, on May 15, 2010; and one sister, Joyce Mott.

Survivors include one son, Brett Carter of Kansas, Okla.; one grandchild; two brothers, Charles Kirby and Donnie Kirby, both of Colcord; and two sisters, Marsha Kirby and Janet Arnold, both of Colcord.

Graveside services were Oct. 22 at Row Cemetery, Colcord, with Larry Ellis officiating.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Robert Hatfield

Robert M. Hatfield, 52, of Pinellas Park, Fla., formerly of Gravette, died Oct. 18, 2010.

He was born Nov. 28, 1957, in Abbeville, Ala., to Gipsy and Jimmy Hatfield. He moved to Gravette where he attended junior and senior high school and graduated from Gravette High School in 1975. He was active in sports and was one of the original players on the first GHS golf team. He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and Little Rock. He worked as a sales representative for 25 years in Texas and Central Florida and enjoyed coaching youth football. He married Pamela Studyvin of Gravette in December of 1979.

He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents and infant siblings Melissa and Patrick.

Survivors include Pamela, his son Matthew and daughterin-law Victoria; his father, Jimmy Hatfield and wife Myra; and brothers, Tracy and Spencer Hatfield.

A memorial was held at Woodside Hospice House in Pinellas Park on Oct. 23.

Wilma Lamphear

Wilma Jean Lamphear, 73, of Siloam Springs, died Oct. 24, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Siloam Springs.

She was born June 7, 1937, in Delaware County, Okla. She was the daughter of Cecil Anderson and Grace Ketterman Anderson. She married Dale Lamphear, Sr., on April 28, 1953. She owned and operated several different restaurants in the Siloam Springs area for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dale; one son, Tim Lamphear; one granddaughter; and one sister.

Survivors include two sons, Dale Lamphear, Jr., and wife Sherry, and Cecil Lamphear, all of Siloam Springs; one daughter, Debbie Cleveland of Siloam Springs; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Letha Brown of Siloam Springs.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Tim Estes officiating. Burial will follow at Maysville Cemetery at Maysville.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Leona Parker McKirch

Leona Parker McKirch, 90, of Bentonville, died Oct. 18, 2010, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.

She was born Dec. 14, 1919, in Mason Valley, to John Addison and Betty McGlothlin Parker. She was employed by Tyson in the processing division.

Survivors include four sons, Charles Eugene McKirch and Vernon Clyde McKirch, both of Siloam Springs, John William McKirch of Bentonville, and Floyd McKirch of Chewey, Okla.; two daughters, Rosa Lee Moss of Siloam Springs, and Betty Sharp of Fort Smith; 20 grandchildren; and 31 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were Oct. 21 at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. Burial followed at Coffelt Cemetery in Mason Valley. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Edna Reading

Edna “Carol” Reading, 74, of Siloam Springs, died Oct. 21, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 18, 1935, in Gentry, to Ed and Kate Tusinger Hayes. She was a dairy farmer and also worked at Bear Brand Hosiery.

Survivors include a son, Joe Dale Hayes and wife Alice of Maysville; three daughters, Jennie McCabe and husband Jim, of Mountainburg, Sandy Smith and husband Rob of Gentry, and Donna Harrelson of Siloam Springs; a brother; two sisters, including Mary Rosewicz of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Oct. 23 at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. Burial followed at Fairmount Cemetery, near Gentry.

Sylvan “Eugene” Smallwood

Sylvan Eugene Smallwood, 68, of Colcord, Okla., died Oct. 20, 2010, at Quail Ridge Living Center, West Siloam Springs, Okla.

He was born Oct. 31, 1941, in Newcastle, Wyo., to Sylvan C. Smallwood and Justine Leonard Smallwood Potter. He lived most of his life in Colcord and was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Colcord.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his step-father, Marlyn Potter of Colcord.

Graveside services were Oct. 23, at Row Cemetery, Colcord, with Larry Ellis officiating. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
