Gravette grass fire

GRAVETTE — Benton County and most of Arkansas is now under a "burn ban" due to dry weather conditions. Grass fires have been common including this large fire that burned a large field west of Pop Allum park last Tuesday.

Several homes in the Patriot Park subdivision were threatened briefly until firefighters brought the blaze under control. Cause of the blaze was undetermined; however it was speculated that fireworks may have accidently started the blaze. The burning ban will remain in effect until it is lifted by the County Judge.
